What Are Rune stones?
Discover the power and magic of Rune stones, an ancient Proto-Germanic tradition that dates back to potentially the first century AD. These twenty-four runic letters, made from wood or stone, hold the secrets of writing, fortune-telling, and creating bind runes and sigils.
The original alphabet, the Elder Futhark runes from the fifth century AD, is still widely used today. The Vikings and other Nordic tribes later adopted the Younger Futhark stones, which were influenced by Old Latin inscriptions. These Norse runes are steeped in rich history and were treated with great reverence and care. In some Norse cultures and across Northern Europe, they were believed to possess powerful divinatory abilities, making them highly regarded and respected.
The term "rune" has its roots in the Germanic languages, often associated with the concepts of "mystery" and "secret". It is also found in Old Irish Gaelic, Welsh and Old English, sometimes also meaning “miracle”. The Lithuanian meaning can be “to speak”, and “poem” in Finnish.
In modern times, runes are commonly utilized to connect with one's inner intuition and provide guidance into potential outcomes in the future, similarly to Divination Cards.
